Class 9: M 3D Rocket in Meshmoon

I entered the virtual world on Meshmoon and set the setting as building mode.
I changed the layer settings several times and created a red cone.

I tried moving the cone.

I created a silver cylinder for the body of the rocket.
I used edit to change the placement of the cylinder by moving the arrows.

I made another cone, this time in blue, for the bottom of the rocket.

This is a final screenshot of the rocket I made in a wide view.

I set all layers to show and this is another screenshot of the 3D rocket I created.

Class 9: Customizing My Avatar

This is a screenshot of my original avatar on meshmoon.

I tried changing my avatar to John, but there weren't any options.

I changed my avatar as Kate and saw there were two options: casual and superhero.
This is a screenshot as casual.

A screenshot of Kate with the superhero option.

I went into the BC leader board virtual world and took a screenshot of the board.

I realized how to change the motion of the avatar and this is a screenshot of my avatar pointing.

This is a screenshot of my avatar waving.

Class 8 Scratch Animated Greeting Card

This is a screenshot of the background I first chose for the greeting card.

I eventually changed the background and added several sprites.

This is another screenshot after adding some motion and sprites that I made myself.
Some of the sprites that I made were a present under the tree, a snowman, bells, and a pink wave.
I switched around bitmap and vector graphic when making the sprites.

This is a screenshot of checking how the greeting card is working.

This is a link to the greeting card I made through Scratch.
Using some of the sprites and some of my own made sprites I added motion, sound and some text.

Class 8: Getting started with Vector and Bitmap graphics in Scratch

This is a screenshot of reading about Vector Graphics.

This is a screenshot of starting of with scratch in Vector Graphics.
I entered a new background.

I made a new sprite with my own handwriting.
I wrote my middle name Summer in it.

I entered two new sprites and added actions to them.

This is a link to the Scratch project I made in Vector Graphics mode.
When you press the green flag, the snowman moves and music comes out.
When you press the space bar the polar bear does flips.
And when you press on the text SUMMER the text moves.

I started a new scratch project using Bitmap.
On the bottom corner there is a selection for bitmap.
I added a dragon as a sprite.

I wrote my name in.

I added another sprite of a dog.

This is a link to the Scratch project I made in Bitmap mode.
Click the green flag and the dragon will move and make sounds.
Press the space bar and the dog will move.

Class 7

This is a progress screenshot of the strokes assignment. I made different shapes and changed the thickness of the edges and colors.

This is the final version of the strokes assignment.

This is a progress screenshot of the paste into assignment.
I downloaded images to use for this assignment and through GIMP I made circular shapes and pasted in the rectangular images I downloaded.

Another progress screenshot.

This is the finalized version of the paste into assignment.

This is a progress screenshot of the transparency assignment.
I used the paste in assignment skills and changed the opacity.
This is the finalized version of the transparency assignment.

This is a progress screenshot of the text assignment.
I wrote four different texts in separate text boxes and changed the color and font of each text box.
For my name I changed the opacity to make my name transparent.

This is the finalized version of the text assignment.

This is a screenshot of the midterm assignment I chose.

This is a screenshot of the resized midterm image.

Another screenshot of resizing the image.
This is the finalized version of scale1.

Class 6, assignment 9

I opened "The Distributed Self" file to start reading the assignment.

A progress screenshot.

Another progress screenshot along the way.

The article "distributed self" talks about how we can make immersive 3d avatars that can be exactly like us. We can transfer our thoughts and make them have consciousness so that it is just like we are in a virtual world. We can edit their appearance and if we want to, we can make them better looking than us. They discuss that if we can successfully transfer info of ourselves, our feelings and thoughts into these avatars, we can multitask. We can transfer our thoughts in web even when we are in asleep. Another thing he talked about is that we can have more than one avatar. We can have main avatar and then multiple alternatives. They all have characteristic of ourselves.

The "identity mapping" assignment that we did last week relates to this. In this assignment, we had to answer multiple questions about ourselves and assess our involvement in web. The whole exercise is to find out how many identities of ourselves were out on the web. At the end, the map was presented with ourselves in the middle and other worlds orbiting around us. The identity mapping is simpler than having an avatar but still the exercise supports the idea behind the article " distributed self"

Class 6, Assignment 8

I visited the Journal of Immersive Education website.

And entered the HORIZON tile with the subcategory Human Body, because the other subcategories would not open, saying there is an error.

I played around with the body scale.

I visited the PlayCavas website with Safari but realized mine doesn't work on Safari and had to use Google Chrome.

The first game I played was Going Around, where Ann needs to look for her keys.
I didn't read the directions correctly at first so I tried to move Ann with the arrows, but I found out I can click to my destination and Ann would walk towards there and double click to pick up an object.
This is a link to the game.

Ann is looking for her keys in her housemate's room.
She has 35 minutes left.

The second game I played was Hungry Self Eating Centipede. I move around the centipede with the arrow keys and I try to eat these white lights that blink which gives me points. The purpose of the game is not allowing the head to touch the tail of the centipede.
This is the link to the game.

I actually played the game several times.
It was quite fun.

The last game I played was LittlePlanetBigRocket.
I am an astronaut and I have to find the rocket on a cube with a limited amount of time. I use the arrow keys to find the rocket, there are obstacles and some part of the cube is a maze. If I do not reach the rocket on time, the rocket leaves without me.

This is a screenshot of my avatar arriving at the rocket with time to spare!

This is a screenshot of the pricing structure.

This is another screenshot of the pricing structure.

Using the free version of PlayCanvas, I made a spinning cube.
This is a screenshot of beginning the starters kit.

Progress along making the spinning cube. I followed the steps from the manual.

Another progress screenshot. The cube isn't moving yet.

I had to change some code using the built in script of PlayCanvas to make the cube spin.

This is a screenshot of the cube spinning.
